Vocational training in Vettelschoss

We offer a number of different technical and administrative trainee programmes at our head office in Germany, some of which are part of a dual study programme. For example:

Trainee in industrial administration (m/f/d)

Our industrial adminstration trainees should have a very good school-leaving certificate, a vocational diploma or a university entrance diploma. They will gain broad experience and take on or support a wide variety of tasks within the area of industrial administration, both in the office and out in the field.

On-the-job training is combined with vocational training at the Ludwig Erhard School in Neuwied. We also provide in-company vocational training to help trainees prepare for the relevant exams. The intensive training and support provided by the trainers is the ideal preparation for a real working life.

A typical aspect of the training we provide is active involvement in the work of all the different departments. This not only includes typical administration areas such as purchasing, sales and accounts, but also operational and technical departments such as production, installation and the technical office.  In this way, all our trainees gain the best possible understanding of all the operational value creation processes and can form some ideas about where they might like to specialize in the future.

Once they have successfully completed their training program, our apprentices will have built up the solid foundations that they need for a successful career – which may also be at Kalenborn itself, in one of our operations at home or abroad.

Trainee in industrial administration (m/f/d) based on the Middle Rhine model (Graduate of Business Administration VWA)

In addition to the classic trainee programme described above, we also offer a dual study programme for applicants with a vocational diploma or a university entrance diploma.

Four separate qualifications can be obtained during the three years of training:

  • Industrial administration clerk
  • Graduate of Business Administration VWA
  • Certified trainer (optional)
  • Foreign language correspondent clerk (optional)

The training also lays the necessary foundations for a Bachelor's or Master's course.

The training programme is made up of a combination of the standard administration trainee programme and a study course at the  VWA in Koblenz. This study course runs alongside the on-the-job training, lasts six semesters and takes place mostly on Saturdays.

The standard trainee programme lasts two years and runs during the week within the company and at a vocational college.  After two years there is an exam to qualify as an industrial administration clerk.

Once these two years have been completed, there is one year of practical experience, which starts with a four-week secondment to one of our subsidiaries abroad. This gives trainees an insight into the Kalenborn Group's international operations and offers a good grounding for the foreign language correspondence exam, if the trainee wishes to take it.

The trainees also attend six multi-day training seminars aimed at developing their management skills.

If trainees wish to have the opportunity to become trainers themselves in the future, they can also take a trainer certification exam. An additional training programme is offered to those wishing to pursue this option.

In addition to obtaining these extensive qualifications, trainees completing this training programme have a good chance of being offered a permanent position, an opportunity to work on management tasks and good prospects for future promotion to leadership positions.
